SIM Headquarters

The SIM HQ Campus, located at 461 Clementi Road, was built at an estimated cost of about S$120 million and was officially opened in 2001 by Dr Tony Tan, then Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence. It houses lecture theatres, tutorial and seminar rooms, computer laboratories, two cafeterias, a multi-purpose hall that can seat up to 1,600 people and one of Singapore’s best management libraries. The majority of SIM programmes and student activities are held here. Other general facilities available include automated teller machines, AXS machine, SingPost S.A.M self-service machine, postal box service and many more. 223 carpark lots are available at the basement and other surface car parks in SIM HQ Campus. Students of the SIM community and the various internationally renowned universities attached with it have constantly made a mark on the global scale. The popularity of the institute in much credited to the Excalibur of success its alumni has achieved. Even presently, there are some really outshining young talents being honed within the SIM umbrella. Mr. Martin Tan is one such excellent example. A fresh graduate from the institute's flagship management course made it big in the entrepreneurial world by opening the store TEA COSY, at Plaza Singapura. Also he is the CEO of an NGO called as the Halogen Foundation. Much recently, the newest kid on the block to become a talk of the reader's in the town, Siddharth Rajhans, is a competent management student of SIM. He struck to fame on the Amazon's bestseller's list in less than a week, and is also presently the NEW YORK TIMES bestseller author of the week in Singapore and Malaysia. SIM's policy to motivate and financially aid all deserving candidates has made it a benchmark of quality education in the entire South-east Asia.

SIM Clementi Centre

The SIM Clementi Centre is the Administration Office of SIM University. Located inside the campus of Ngee Ann Polytechnic, it is adjacent to SIM HQ and houses a total of 20 lecture theatres and tutorial rooms, Electronic Labs, Multimedia (PC & Mac) Labs, Interpretation Labs, Bio-Medical Lab, Bio-Mechanical Lab, ICT Network Lab, SAP Training Lab and Audio Presentation Lab.

SIM Management House

The SIM Management House at Namly Avenue serves as the primary location for membership activities as well as short-term training workshops and seminars. It was opened in 1989 by Dr Richard Hu, then Minister for Finance, and sits on a gross land area of about 10,000 sq m on a 99-year lease from Hwa Chong Institution. It includes 20 lecture theatres, function/seminar rooms, computer laboratories, a members' lounge, cafeteria, business centre, bookshop and library.

SIM Global Education Campus @ Ulu Pandan

The SIM GE Campus @ Ulu Pandan is the student hostel of SIM GE. The campus is the fourth and latest SIM facility officially opened on 18 September 2008 by Minister for Finance, Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam. Occupying 4.5 hectares and the size of six football fields, the new campus provides boarding for international and local students with a total of 247 rooms and 428 beds. Themed short-stay studio apartments are also available for parents and visiting faculty. The unique feature of the campus is its whole array of residential, sporting and recreational facilities set in spacious, verdant grounds. These facilities include tennis and futsal courts, gym, outdoor yoga pad and fitness area as well as a student lounge, dance studio, barbecue pits and cafeteria. There are also seminar rooms and a multi-purpose hall.

SIM Campus Development & Extension

SIM has announced a Master Plan to further expand its Clementi campus at a platform topping up ceremony on October 9, 2009.

The SIM Campus Development Master Plan which will cost $300 million and is expected to be completed by 2014 will be rolled out in two phases. It will render an additional 56,000 square meters of space, more than double its current campus, thus consolidating its position as the largest private tertiary institution in Singapore, both in terms of total campus size and student enrolment.

SIM's plan to increase its campus size is made in anticipation of the steady growth in its student population as it looks forward to playing a greater role as a leading higher education and lifelong learning institute.

The extended campus will cater primarily to the growing needs of the SIM University (UniSIM). As the only local private university recognised by the Ministry of Education (MOE) to award its own degrees, UniSIM plays a unique role in catering to the tertiary education and lifelong learning needs of working adults. Offering over 40 programmes from four schools, its range of relevant and recognised graduate and post-graduate degree programmes offered through a flexible mode of study are fast gaining popularity with working adults who are looking for higher qualifications, career advancement or self-fulfillment.

With the added incentive of a MOE subsidy of up to 40% for its students introduced in 2008, UniSIM has seen a substantial jump in its enrolment. It now has some 10,000 students, compared to 8,000 in 2007. This number is expected to grow by another 40% to 14,000 by 2020 as continuing education and training continues to play a pivotal role in Singapore's economic growth. UniSIM currently caps its annual intake to only about half of applications received due to limited facilities.

The new campus extension will allow UniSIM to meet increased and future demand for places which it is not able to meet at the moment. To support UniSIM's growth in student population, more staff will also be required and the new extension will allow UniSIM to house staff from its four academic schools within its own premises.
